Fans Player of the Day - 6th
#RoadtoTokyo
The Bulgarians opened their campaign in the race for the single available Tokyo 2020 ticket with a stunning tie-break victory. When their star opposite, Tsvetan SOKOLOV, top scores the Bulgarians tend to win and this was the case again here. This performance gave Sokolov 51.6% of your vote meaning that the Zenit KAZAN star is the Fans Player of the Day for day 2 in Berlin.
In a game that could have gone either way, it was the Bulgarians who edged it on the line. In total France may have won more points 103-101, however this is irrelevant in Volleyball and at 2-2 it was a race to 15.
This is where Sokolov stepped up and proved himself a true leader hammering down five points, two of them from the serving line, as part of an emphatic 15-8 closing.
Sokolov ended with a total of 23 points to his name and topped the charts of the match.
Of the 77 finished by Bulgarian players, Sokolov got nearly one third of them.
How does it work?
